Talkeetna is 114 miles north of Anchorage, and 154 highway miles south of the Denali National Park entrance. You can drive to Talkeetna by traveling north on the George Parks Highway (State Route 3) to mile 98.5 and taking the clearly marked Talkeetna Spur turn off. Susitna River Lodging is at mile 13.5 on the Spur road. Travel time is approximately 2 ½ hours from Anchorage and 3 hours to Denali State Park. Traveling from Anchorage to Talkeetna on the Alaska Railroad is a relaxing way to see the breathtaking scenery and wildlife that abound in Alaska. Susitna River Lodge and our cedar sided cabins are just a short 5 minute walk from the Talkeetna Railroad Station and an easy 10 minute walk from town.
